It’s the start of the weekend and the second to last day for OPEN OFFICE! We’ve had a hell of a week and we’re going out in style. Todays theme is “Media Migration” Today at 4 pm is the virtual chef project. Ashkan Sepahvand, of the Berlin based group Reloading Images will be broadcasting a cooking lesson via video-chat live from Germany. We’ll be cooking at the same time in OPEN OFFICE. We’ll collaborate on one similar dish and then each of us will make a separate dish that reflects our respective locales. Not telling what Ashkan’s is yet but I promise its delicious (not like we’ll be able to eat it or anything). So brave the rain and come on over for that. In the viewing rooms today we’ve got some serious documentary action going on. We’ll be showing two films by Big Noise Tactical Media: Deserter and The War of 33: Letters From Beirut. We’re also showing footage from The World Tribunal on Iraq shot by Deep Dish TV. Finally tonight we welcome back our friend Chris Maher from New York City. He’s got the catchiest songs you ever did hear and I swear after four years his hit me=mc2 is still looping in my head. Joining him will be local favorites Photosynthesis and Persephone and her cellar babies. Sugary pop goodness comin’ at ya.
