The Electronic Music class has been setting up in here all day. There are so many weird sounds coming from all the screening rooms but the movies are still up. Today we’ve got a reprise of Gordon Matta-Clark’s Open House plus two new ones: Ant Farm and T.R. Uthco’s The Eternal Frame and Dara Birnbaum’s Technology/Transformation: Wonderwoman. I think the music’s gonna start in a few minutes so get over here!
What a ruckus! The Electronic Music showcase was a cacophonous success. It was definitely our most active nighttime event yet. We packed to place almost to capacity and had an awesome round robin performance with the audience migrating from room to room to see the different pieces. Andrew and Peter did a really cool split room set in the old x-ray room. It was too dark to take too many pictures but I got some great video so stay tuned for that. Thanks to Noshi for bringing over twenty hot dogs to feed the hungry musicians. They vanished faster than you can say…uh…hot dog…
Today was also our most active reading day ever! Check this out!
And a few people took advantage of the new viewing station in the reading room. Here’s Freddy and Sam watching Kevin Keating’s 2006 documentary Giuliani Time…
Again, stay tuned for that electronic music footage.
